The Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Valencia requests a sentence of one and a half years in prison for a man accused of insulting an ONCE coupon distributor on different occasions: "Maintained, shitty paralytic", he even said.
This is clear from the tax qualification, to which Europa Press has had access, in which the prosecutor in charge of the matter, Susana Gisbert, accuses the man of a hate crime; two misdemeanors of injury; and a minor crime of continuous threats. Along with the prison sentence, the prosecutor claims for the defendant the payment of a fine and a ban on approaching the victim.
The events date back to the months of April and early May 2022, at the ONCE post of the Gasaqui Restaurant Complex Service Area, located on the A-7 motorway, in the Valencian district of L'Ollería, where the victim as a distributor of ONCE coupons.
Initially, on an unspecified date, but between April and May, the defendant - always according to the same fiscal classification - took two coupons from the victim and assured her that he would pay them after having a coffee. When the man left the restaurant, he did not pay the coupons, so the vendor claimed them.
The defendant, far from paying them, "with a spirit of contempt", replied: "Go fuck yourself, you paralyzed whore." Later, on June 29, 2022, around 11 a.m., inside a restaurant, both exchanged a few words. At one point, the defendant, "with an intimidating attitude and an aggressive tone", pounced on the victim and told him: "Paralyzed bastard, I had to kill you and all those like you, all the paralytics of ONCE, maintained, paralyzed shit that we have to pay with taxes. Don't worry, you fall, I'm going to go for my shotgun and I'm going to kill you," he asserted.
Later, on July 2, 2022, outside the same restaurant, they both met again and the defendant continued with the same spirit of intimidating him and even made the gesture of pretending to fire a weapon. That same day, inside the premises, he yelled at her again: "Now that the picoletos aren't here, you're going to find out." He also slapped her hand while the victim was holding his phone and trying to record the events.
As a consequence of these events, the victim, who was 55 years old at the time of the events, on September 26 suffered injuries consisting of an anxiety crisis, an episode that was repeated days later. All this generated a situation of restlessness and fear that led him to report the events in June 2022 and July of the same year.
Subsequently, the court issued a precautionary measure prohibiting the accused from approaching less than 200 meres from the victim or contacting her. The order stands.
