The Urban Guard of Barcelona has arrested, at the request of the Mossos d'Esquadra, an agent of the municipal body accused of omission to prosecute crimes, degrading treatment and usurpation of public functions, according to what Betevé and El Caso have advanced and ACN has confirmed.
The arrest took place on Wednesday, after his partner had been arrested the day before for alleged sexual assault in an Eixample nightclub, specifically for touching the victims in her presence. According to the police account, the man posed as a policeman to do the touching and coercion. The arrest of the man was made by the Urban Police, who also identified the woman. At the time, however, she didn't stop him.
Subsequently, the case passed into the hands of the Catalan police, who decided to arrest the municipal agent. The arrest was carried out the following day, Wednesday, by the same Barcelona police at the request of the regional body.
The couple has spent this Friday in court. The Barcelona City Council has pointed out that at the time of the events the agent was out of service.
