The City Council and the Local Police of Canet de Mar (Maresme) have detected several attempts to scam restaurateurs and merchants in the municipality who receive calls or messages through social networks demanding that an economic transfer be made to a false account of the Consistory.
The victims receive a message with the details of a checking account to make the deposit that does not correspond to the City Council and, later, they are also contacted through a telephone call on behalf of the mayor of the town.
From the Local Police they ask whoever receives a message or call of this type to notify the police force.
