Akron man with warrant arrested for drug abuse: Brecksville Police Blotter

Drug abuse, I-77: On Feb. 6, police observed a black Buick Rendezvous without a front license plate traveling on I-77. While talking to the Akron driver, the officer smelled marijuana. The man told the officer he had a warrant for his arrest from the Garfield Heights Municipal Court.

The driver said he was headed to Garfield to pay the fine. At that point, the officer handcuffed the man, who had $3,800 in cash in a front pants pocket. The man said he had the cash as part of an insurance settlement.

It turned out the man had a warrant from the Independence Police Department. While searching the car, police found a vaping pipe and a liquid substance that smelled like marijuana.

The driver was arrested and held for transport. He was also cited for drug abuse, Bahis Siteleri possession of drug paraphernalia and no front license plate. 

Property damage, Mill Road: On Feb. 1, a business owner came to the police station to report a week earlier he discovered tire tracks on the tree lawn of his property.

The man said over the past five years, guests at a nearby bar will trespass and throw trash on his property. They also illegally park on his property. Police are investigating. 

Warrant, Oakes Road: On Jan. 28, police observed a tan Murano make a series of odd moves on Oakes Road. The SUV turned around in a driveway and went into a cul-de-sac before exiting a residential area.

The officer talked to the driver, who said he was lost. The man told the officer he was attempting to travel from Lorain to Medina. It turned out passengers had warrants from the Lorain Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Both men were arrested and held for transport. The driver was allowed to leave the scene.
