A mosso d'esquadra has accepted a fine of 3,000 euros for sexually abusing a colleague at a police station. The defendant has acknowledged having brought his genitals closer to the victim "with a lewd spirit" and without her consent while both were working in police stations as agents of the authority. This Thursday the defendant's defense has signed an agreement in accordance with the Prosecutor's Office for which he accepts a fine.
The public ministry has taken into account that the defendant compensated the woman with 8,000 euros before the trial was held and has applied an attenuation to repair the damage. Before sealing the agreement, the Prosecutor's Office requested a sentence of one year and six months in jail for the agent. The events occurred on December 14, 2020 at a Manresa police station. The agent, after being denounced by his partner, was transferred to another police center while an internal investigation was opened that awaited what the judicial process determined.
Now, with this conviction, the agent could be punished with a serious offense that entails a suspension of employment and salary of between 16 days to one year. His lawyer, Valentina Mazzoni, has celebrated the agreement they have reached with the Prosecutor's Office and has considered the sentence imposed fair based on the facts. The Prosecutor's Office also requested that the agent be imposed the measure of probation, this option can only be applied when there is an internment in prison.
