A major fire that has affected six industrial buildings located on Camí del Sant Crist in Vilassar de Mar (Maresme) has caused small explosions and a large column of smoke this Saturday night that could be seen from nearby towns, such as Premià.
Neighbors have taken to the streets concerned about the small explosions they have heard on Saturday night. A Twitter user has posted a video in which you can see how the flames rise in the distance.
The fire started in an area of warehouses and greenhouses in the town and has affected six warehouses and greenhouses for ornamental plants, plastics companies, and one fishing equipment company. Some of the residents who arrived at the scene before the security services tried to remove the animals that could be inside the wrecked ships.
Twelve fire crews and various devices from the Mossos d'Esquadra have gone to the place. Firefighters have worked until the wee hours of the morning to put out the flames and, according to the first information, one of them has had to be transferred to the hospital.
Three ambulances have participated in the operation and one of them has treated a firefighter who had to be transferred to the Mataró hospital. At the moment no cause of the fire is ventured.
