Two men who died after an apparent head-on collision Friday evening on Fabyan Parkway near Route 38 in West Chicago have been identified as brothers, the DuPage County coroner's office said.

Victor Martinez, 24, and Enrique Martinez, 20, both of West Chicago, were traveling in a 2000 Chevy Silverado when it collided with another vehicle carrying a 10-year-old boy and his relative just before 5 p.m., fire officials said.

Victor Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:05 p.m. Enrique Martinez was taken to Central DuPage Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:51 p.m. Both men's preliminary cause of death is multiple traumatic injuries, according to the coroner's office.

The boy and an adult relative were in the other vehicle. Both were taken to Central DuPage Hospital. Their conditions are unknown.

West Chicago police and the DuPage County sheriff's department are investigating.
