2 arrested in Carpentersville indoor marijuana grow operation

Two Carpentersville residents were charged after police executed a search warrant Thursday that turned up an indoor grow operation of 66 marijuana plants.

Robbie Marinkovich, 44, of the 0-99 block of Valentine Street, was charged with felony production of cannabis, manufacture/delivery of 30 to 500 grams of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owners Identification card, according to police and Kane County court records.

The most severe charge -- production of cannabis -- carries a punishment range of three to seven years in prison if convicted, but probation also is an option.

Donna L. Yoshimura, 43, also of the 0-99 block of Valentine Street, faces felony charges of manufacture/delivery of 30 to 500 grams of cannabis as well as possession of cannabis, according to police and court records.

The most severe charge against Yoshimura carries a penalty of two to five years in prison and probation is an option.

Carpentersville police said they also seized drug paraphernalia and a shotgun.

Marinkovich's bail was set at $30,000, and Yoshimura was released on a recognizance bond, police said.

Both are due in court on March 10.
