Few can resist the temptation of Girl Scout Cookies.
And 15 Lehigh Valley chefs Sunday didn't disappoint, using thin mints, shortbreads, peanut-butter sandwiches and smores as ingredients to create their sweet and savory dishes.
The 3rd annual Girl Scout Cookie Crunch drew a sold-out crowd of more than 300 girl scouts, as well as spectators, at the ArtsQuest Center on the SteelStacks campus in Bethlehem. Organizers said it was the event's largest turnout since its 2015 inception.
Visitors sampled the treats -- ranging from small bite appetizers to more complex desserts -- and then cast their votes in both the "sweet" and "savory" People's Choice categories, as well as the Kids' Choice category.

The Bethlehem Dairy Store won in the "sweet" category with their S'Mores and Cream ice cream. Aramark at SteelStacks took home both the 'savory' and Kids' Choice prizes with their Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Topped with Girl Scout Short Bread Cookies.
Also in attendance was Lucy Chelton of Sellersville, Bucks County, a Girl Scout Junior who won on the Food Network's "Chopped Jr" in August. Chelton spoke to the crowd and also signed autographs.
The Girl Scout cookie program is one of the the largest girl-led businesses worldwide. Proceeds from cookie sales support various goals, including camping and traveling.
The event continues to benefit Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania and the ArtsQuest Arts Education Fund.
