The Origins Fair returns to Olot this weekend

The city of Olot once again becomes a gastronomic epicenter this weekend thanks to a new edition, and now there are eleven, of the Fira Orígens. The exhibition will bring together around sixty producers from all over the territory and renowned faces of gastronomy, among which Clara and Carlota Puigvert (Les Cols), Iolanda Bustos, known as the flower chef, or Adrià Juncà (Ca l' Enric), among others, who will prepare some dishes live and talk about the role of vegetables in their kitchens, the central axis of the presentations of this edition.

Among the participating producers, the weight of organic products stands out, which this year represents 43% of the total offer present at this agri-food fair of quality products from Catalonia. In addition, to the usual tastings of cheeses, sausages, coffee or cava, new ingredients are added such as mountain apple, fresh spirulina, flaons, xuixos from Girona or, now that Christmas is approaching, organic nougat.

Like every year, one of the highlights will come from the chefs who will give presentations in which they will show the public some of the dishes they prepare in their restaurants and show off their creativity and skills. The objective of this edition is to highlight the richness and diversity of vegetables in the kitchen, where vegetables, legumes and fruit have gone from having a secondary role to being the protagonists.

Likewise, within the framework of the contest, the 2nd edition of the National Botifarra Catalana Contest will be held, which was very well received in 2022, and the awards for Best Products, Best Stand and Best Sustainable Stand of Orígens 23 will be awarded.

The entrance price to the fair is 5 euros and includes five tastings. The visitor will also be able to buy directly from the producer. The fairgrounds will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
