The Mallorcan Da Souza announce their withdrawal from the stage

The Majorcan pop quintet has announced that “tanca sa blind” after more than ten years of experience. "We are very satisfied and proud of the camí fet, but we also need to turn the page," says the formation in the note sent to the press.

Born as a quartet with one foot in Mallorca and the other in Barcelona, Da Souza was born under the influence of Agustí Simó da Souza, a Mallorcan of Brazilian origin whom Cabot met in Raval during the group's formative years, a football coach who acted as guru for the band

His recording debut dates back to 2013 with the EP Pau mundial, followed the same year by the long-lasting Flors i violencia. It was followed by Great Leap Forward (2016), Futbol d’avantguarda (2018) and Salsa agredolça (2020), the last two especially well received by critics.

Their latest and most choral work, Dies d'atrezzo (Bankrobber), was produced by Pau Riutort and appeared in 2022, reaffirming the importance of the quintet within Balearic music with catchy melodies and lyrics that exalt the everyday that could be heard when they performed. as the opening act for Antònia Font last October at the Palau Sant Jordi.
