The gala of the XXXI edition of the Lux awards took place yesterday, with the awards of the eleven categories awarded by the association of professional photographers of Spain since 1993 and which have been positioning themselves as a benchmark for professional photography in Spain.

There were 33 winners, divided into Lux Gold, Silver and Bronze, which were awarded to the most outstanding photographers in the contest. Documentary reportage, personal project, advertising, portraiture and the junior category, where promising young photographers are presented, are some of the categories that received recognition during yesterday's ceremony, in the ceremony led by journalist Laura Sangrà, at the Disseny Hub of Barcelona.

One of the protagonists of the gala was the photographer Miguel Ángel Cruzado Gómez, who received the Lux Gold in the category of personal projects with his work that rescues, in analog format, the legacy of Luis Raluy, the circus artist who died in 2021. In addition, he won the Lux Plata in the still life category with the work Family objects, a look at the past. The jury highlighted the use of analogue photography in the digital age.

Among the 33 winners, there are also Silvia Isach Saumell, who won the Lux Gold in the documentary reportage category with The latent inheritance, a notable work that shows the effects of exposure to asbestos fibers, and Leticia Pérez Acosta, for its daring proposal in the Junior category.
