Abandonment takes a tremendous toll on the animals, who survive with almost no food or water, in addition to exposing themselves to major diseases and serious socialization problems. That's what a small dog in Bali had to face, almost without fur and unable to walk due to his injuries.
According to a video published by The Dodo, a woman was walking with her dogs through a wooded area when she found him, very scared and trembling. She rescued him and took him home the first few days. She gave him water and took care of him as if she were just another pet.
However, his condition required surgical intervention. From there, he spent a week at the veterinarian, who operated on the hernia that prevented him from walking.
At four years old, this little dog started a new life. He spent weeks in a shelter, receiving the love of workers and volunteers. The dog was not used to it and showed a certain distrust on some occasions.
However, little by little he began to feel safe and even showed affection to his caregivers. From then on, the dog showed a vitality unheard of until that moment. There was a physical change, especially in his coat, and a change in mood, which was "noticeable even in his eyes."
But this friendly dog did not stay in the shelter, but was adopted by a family. And he had company: another dog brother with whom he plays and lives without any problem.
