Lewis Capaldi cancels his concerts in Barcelona and Madrid minutes before going on stage

Lewis Capaldi has announced the sudden suspension of the two concerts he was to give today Friday and tomorrow Saturday at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona and the Wizink Center in Madrid, respectively. The promoter of the concert, Live Nation, has alluded to "medical reasons" to explain the decision. This same week Capaldi canceled two other performances due to bronchitis.

The name of the redhead Lewis Capaldi has become known worldwide since the publication in 2019 of his album Divinely Uninspired to a hellish extent. With songs like Someone you loved or Before you go, he reached number 1 worldwide. The Scottish singer-songwriter is performing throughout Europe as part of the Broken By Desire to be Heavenly Sent tour, which should take him to the United States in April.

The interpreter has apologized with a message through his Twitter account where he says he feels "very sad to leave everyone stranded, especially when there was so little left for the show." Capaldi explains that he has done everything possible to avoid it, resting his voice and taking medication since the last performance. However, "after carrying out the sound check and giving it my all, warming up his voice, I had to admit that he wasn't in a position to act".

The cancellation of these two concerts follows those of Zurich and Milan, which were to be held on March 7 and 8, and which have finally been postponed to May 31 in Milan and June 28 in Zurich.
