La Mercè de Barcelona reveals the complete musical program

Barcelona City Council has presented this morning the musical program for the Mercè festivities that will be held from September 22 to 25 with Kiev as the guest city, a live music offer that will flood the streets of Barcelona with classical music, singer-songwriters, root music and above all festivity. Pongo, Buhos, The Tyets, Boye or Ginestà are some of the prominent names that will perform in the different venues of the city. The poster incorporates local and international proposals, as well as adding new stages.

Among the different musical paths that can be enjoyed in September, Música Mercè stands out, which has presented more than fifty proposals with a totally equal line-up: Ille, Bala Desejo or Marina Herlop. The concerts will take place in classic venues such as the Teatre Grec, Bogatell beach, Avenida de la Catedral and Plaza Major in Nou Barris. New locations are also being added, such as the Paseo de los Til·lers or the one on Calle Menéndez y Pelayo. On the other hand, the programming associated with the Catalan music radio stations incorporates names such as Buhos, Abraham Mateo, Suu, Els Catarres or The Tyets in a lineup made up of more than a hundred artists who will perform in 16 different venues.

More than forty artists will perform on the four stages of the BAM: the Moll de la Fusta, the Rambla del Raval, the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm and the Plaza Reial. The cooperative responsible for the organization has programmed alternative proposals that transcend genres, identities and formats. There will be projects that investigate traditional genres merging with current trends and, also, as well as new urban pop. Luna Ki, Rehema Tajiri, NOIA, Mercury, Shego and Mushkaa are some of the voices that can be discovered.

The main stage of Acció Cultura Viva (ACV) will be located in the Plaza de Can Fabra, which is committed to local projects to show the varied musical offer of the city. Here you can discover artists like Mukti, a journey between Indian music and flamenco, Marta Knight with a soft indie, and the Puerto Rican Merina and her Melao. La Nau Bostik will host the performances that will close the night and, also, the Alternative Record Fair that has already become a classic.

The concerts, in public spaces, will be freely accessible to make it easier for citizens to discover and celebrate a renewed and charged festival like never before that will have Kiev as a guest city: each space will have a performance of Ukrainian origin, such as Marayana Klochko, DakhaBrakha or Daria Kolomiec.
