How to keep your cat cool in summer

Just as in winter we have to pay special attention to prevent our cat from catching a cold, in summer the objective must be to protect it from high temperatures. Kittens, as with dogs and also humans, can suffer heat stroke with negative consequences for their body.

Cats don't regulate their body temperatures as effectively as people, so they're especially sensitive when thermometers soar. If we don't relieve their hot flashes and keep them hydrated, they may suffer from dehydration, sunburn or experience heat stroke.

Heat stroke in kittens manifests itself with symptoms such as panting, rapid breathing, high body temperature, feeling dizzy and staggering, vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, muscle tremors, gums turn bluish and may even lose consciousness. Therefore, it is essential to know how to keep your cat cool in summer.
