Ice cannot be missing in summer, and on TikTok they have understood it perfectly. So much so that this platform has been filled with videos showing how users have entire drawers in their freezers dedicated exclusively to storing ice of all possible shapes, sizes, and flavors.

Flowers, lemon, cucumber, rosemary, coffee or energy drinks are some of the ingredients that are most often added to the cubes. Tiktoker Kaeli Mae (@kaelimaee) leads this trend, with videos that have reached up to 46 million views. In them you can see how she organizes her drawer with 12 different types of ice, including frozen protein shakes, strawberry and kiwi ice, and more.

The success of these videos is not reduced to the ice itself or the fact that in summer it is good to always have a couple of ice cube trays full in the freezer. They are also included in the ASMR category, or Autonomous Meridian Sensory Response, a neurological reaction that occurs in our brain when we consume content that stimulates our senses, visually or auditorily. This means that the sounds made by the ice when it is arranged in the freezer drawers can be relaxing for many users.

Although this trend has many followers, some users have also criticized it, noting how impractical it can be to allocate an entire freezer drawer just to store ice. "I still don't understand why so much ice," says one comment. Others see it as a bit exaggerated, since "you will never use so many cubes."

It is not necessary to have a drawer full of ice if they are not consumed frequently. But in the heat of summer, they can come in handy when it comes to cooling off. Adding fruits or mint can also help us to hydrate more, since they will give new flavors to the water.
