Batchcooking weekly menu for the week of March 6 to 10

I keep a dark secret. When people compliment me on how well my kids eat and how they have no problem eating everything “even vegetables!” I have to bite my tongue to keep from admitting my biggest shame: they don't eat zucchini.

His mother and I love it. Grilled, grilled, in creams, in rice dishes... zucchini is one of those noble and generous vegetables that goes with almost everything, it is easy to prepare and usually very cheap. Or at least, at a reasonable price.

But with my children, there is no way. Their revulsion even becomes physical, with bitter rictus of disgust and even retching at the presence of zucchini in any presentation on their plates.

With the three of them well into their teens, I have to admit that I have thrown in the towel. I buy less and less zucchini, and I only use it for what we eat at home while they are at school. My only hope is that my grandchildren will pay them back, one day, in kind.
