Amazon premieres 'My fault': the adaptation of the 'best-seller' by Mercedes Ron

The long-awaited film adaptation of Culpa mía, the first book in the successful literary trilogy, Culpables, by Mercedes Ron, has already been released. The film is a production of Pokeepsie Films and Amazon Originals, so it can only be viewed on the digital platform, Amazon Prime Video.

My fault adapts to the big screen the romantic phenomenon that Mercedes Ron began in 2017 with the novel of the same name. The film tells the story of Noah, a 19-year-old girl who must leave her city, her boyfriend and her friends to move into the big mansion of her mother's new and rich husband, William Leister. That's where she meets her new stepbrother Nick, with whom she begins a passionate love affair.

The roles of Noah and Nick are performed by actors Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara respectively. Both Wallace and Guevara have previously participated in the Spanish series, Hit and Skam Spain. The adaptation is directed by Domingo González, who has worked in the production of video clips for musical groups such as La Casa Azul or Camera Obscura.

Mercedes Ron's novel was born on the internet platform, Wattpad. The adolescent love story that she tells became a phenomenon on the platform, where it currently accumulates 54 million readings. The digital success allowed him to publish the novel in physical format under Penguin Random House's Montena imprint.

The Culpables trilogy is made up of Culpa mía (2017) and its continuations, Culpa tuya (2017) and Culpa nuestra (2018). After this first film, fans of the saga remain eager for Amazon to adapt the remaining chapters.
