After 10 years, Schwarzenegger and Shriver have finally divorced

According to court records, a Los Angeles judge completed the divorce on Tuesday.

After Schwarzenegger revealed that he had had a child years earlier, Shriver and the couple had been married for over 30 years.

The tabloid frenzy erupted after the revelation, but Schwarzenegger & Shriver managed their divorce quietly without making any accusations.

It is not clear why this process took so long. Between the initial rush of 2011 filings and the resumption in June of court movements, there were almost no public actions in the case.

The financial details of the settlement are confidential. The settlement does not include child support or custody arrangements as the four children of the couple are all now adults.

Although settlement papers state that neither spouse owes each other spousal support in writing, both parties reserve the right to pursue it through the courts in the future.

The lawyers for the couple did not respond to messages that were left.

After a long and successful career as a bodybuilder, Schwarzenegger made a fortune by playing the role of Conan in action films "Terminator" & "Conan". California was experiencing economic difficulties and power outages during the time of Gray Davis's administration. In 2003, voters recall Gray Davis and elect Schwarzenegger, who is a Republican to the governorship.

Schwarzenegger gave up his film career and was elected governor for two terms. He admitted to fathering Joseph Baena in his first year as governor. This was with a member from his household staff during the late 1990s. Shriver filed for divorce on July 2011.

Since then, he has been acting sporadically in films like "Terminator" or "Expendables".

Shriver had to resign as a correspondent for "Dateline" on NBC when her husband declared he was running in the governor's race.

After her husband's departure, she resumed her job as a television journalist. She produced stories for NBC and was active in promoting women's issues and advocating for those with Alzheimer's.

She authored the bestseller "I've been Thinking ...: Reflections prayers and meditations for a meaningful life" in 2018.

Shriver is the daughter Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Sargent Shriver. Shriver was the first head of Peace Corps and vice presidential candidate in 1972.

Shriver and Schwarzenegger have children ranging in age from 24 up to 32. Katherine Schwarzenegger is an author and is married to Chris Pratt.
