A user proposes that older people be removed from supermarkets on Saturdays: the network explodes

The networks are full of trolls, offensive content, absurd videos, memes... But this tweet would win the award for nonsense of the year, due to the little basis of the proposal, but also because it shows a lack of absolute empathy and understanding.

"Would it be too much to ask that people over 67, who have the whole week to go shopping, be banned on Saturdays and no one over this age will be allowed in?" wrote one user on Twitter. Along with the clearly discriminatory phrase, there was an image of the interior of a supermarket, where a couple of older women, with their backs turned, were shopping.

Obviously, the reactions number in the thousands: the tweet already has more than 848,000 views and more than 3,200 responses. Most of the users who interact condemn the proposal and show their disbelief.

When another Internet user asks the author of this tweet what he is referring to, he answers clearly: "They absolutely saturate the shops the only day that non-retired people can go shopping." On another occasion, a user told him that "older people must be respected", to which he replied that "they must also be organized".

The responses to the original tweet are highly varied, from insults and indignation, to explanations, by older people, of how busy their lives are, taking care, for example, of children and grandchildren.

The proposal of the message, without a doubt, has given rise to reflection on what can be proposed in the name of the social organization. Ageism -prejudice and discrimination against people because of their age- is the order of the day, also on the networks.
