Despite the existing regulations, there are hoteliers who continue to refuse to respect the rights of workers. Some do not want to regulate their employment situation, are reluctant to pay for recognized medical leave and are not willing to give vacations, even if they have requested them within the indicated period.
It is the same case that has been echoed by the @soycamarero account, which has shared some controversial screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation.
The discussion begins when the worker asks for the advice number, because he wants to communicate vacation days two months in advance. The response is forceful: "I'm not going to give you anything because he has nothing to talk to you about. What do you want me to pay you if you haven't shown up for work for two months?"
The worker reproaches him that he has not gone to work because he has a sick leave recognized by the doctor and that, therefore, he has the right to receive his salary in the same way. "Do you want me to work without my rights?" He responds.
Furthermore, he does not understand the point, because it reminds him that he has people working in an irregular situation: "I don't know how you play it like that." But the hotelier does not give in and sends him a humorous message: "I want to play hide-and-seek with you."
There is no understanding and the worker warns him that he is going to go all out to defend his rights. "You have to enter my payroll through the bank and I can't sign the hours because I'm on medical leave. Because of the bank, you always do it in black and I have proof of it," he concludes.
