Prince William has shown over the years that he is a great football fan, a passion that his eldest son George appears to have inherited. Together they presided over the English Cup final at Wembley Stadium, which Manchester United won over Manchester City.

One of the most special moments of the meeting occurred when Guillermo and Jorge, who were dressed alike, shared a greeting with Pep Guardiola, City coach. The conversation took place at the moment when the Catalan coach was going up to the box to receive his silver medal, which revealed the respect and cordiality that exists between the royal family – both Guillermo and his son support Aston Villa – and the main sports figures.

Furthermore, as president of the English Football Association, Guillermo went down to the pitch after the game to participate in the awards ceremony. The prince had the honor of presenting the trophy to Bruno Fernandes, captain of the Red Devils, after his team won 2-1 over their city rivals.

Jorge’s presence at the match, a surprise for many, has been interpreted as the continuity and future of the royal family’s support for sport. In fact, during the final he was seen very active and his enthusiasm for football is a clear indication that the next generation of royals remains firm in maintaining sporting traditions.

The one who had the most serious gesture was his father. Prince William, like the entire British royal family, is not having a good streak. The heir to the throne does not speak to his brother, while his wife and his father fight cancer.

Despite his health problems, Charles III has resumed his royal schedule and is showing a positive recovery, while Kate Middleton, focused on healing, has temporarily retired from her public duties.
