Who is this famous and unrecognizable actor who will star in 'The Penguin'?

Just a few hours ago, the first images of the filming of The Penguin in the streets of New York, the spin-off of The Batman produced for HBO Max, have come to light. In the photographs we can see an unrecognizable Colin Farrel, in his role as the iconic villain Oswald Cobblepot.

Following the success of Matt Reeves' Dark Knight installment, fans celebrate the first images of the spin-off filming. Everything seems to indicate that it will not be necessary to wait a long time to enjoy the series, with HBO Max likely to announce the release date soon for the end of this year or the beginning of the next.

Shortly after Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed the sequel to the Matt Reeves film, the American conglomerate announced the creation of a series centered on the villain Oswald Cobblepot, better known as The Penguin, the name that gives the spin-off its title.

An unrecognizable Colin Farrel is in charge of giving life to the infamous and from the first images we can conclude that the characterization of the character will not leave anyone indifferent. The Irish actor once again personifies Batman's number one enemy, repeating the same appearance as in the film released last year.

The cast is complemented by other performers of the stature of Clancy Brown, Cristin Milioti or Rhenzy Feliz. Regarding Robert Pattinson, whom we could see as an impeccable Bruce Wayne in the film, a possible and eventual cameo is rumored, although it has yet to be confirmed.

A few months ago Sarah Aubrey, the president of content for the Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service, stated in an interview with Variety that the spin-off "will take place immediately after the end of The Batman and temporarily before the events of the second movie".

Aubrey added that "the series will come between the two movies. Now, other than that, it's fun for audiences to know that it will be a bridge between the two. But on the release date I can't say anything." This is an early stage project, whose filming has started recently, so as the months go by we will have more information.
