Who is Genoveva Casanova, the woman related to Prince Frederick of Denmark?

The last few hours have been busy for the Royal Family of Denmark. Beyond receiving the kings of Spain this week at the Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, striking news has emerged around one of its most illustrious members: Prince Frederick. The son of Margaret II, heir to the Danish crown since 1972, was sighted in Madrid in the company of a relatively well-known woman in the Spanish heartland: Genoveva Casanova.

The Mexican actress, former partner of Cayetano Martínez de Irujo, was identified as Federico's walking companion in the area of the Retiro Park and the Prado Museum, in photographs that have not yet come to light. Some images that once again put a woman with a lot of television presence in the forefront of today's news, having participated in different contests in recent years. Even so, she soon ruled out any type of connection with Federico.

“I strongly deny claims suggesting a romantic relationship between Prince Frederick and me. Any such statement is not only completely untrue, but also maliciously misrepresents the facts. "This is already in the hands of my lawyers, who will take care of the pertinent steps to protect my right to honor, truth and privacy," the actress said in a statement.

Born in Mexico in 1976, Casanova has an outstanding role in her artistic resume: participation with her then partner, Cayetano Martínez de Irujo, in the filming of the film Goya's Ghosts. Both were placed under the orders of Czech director Milos Forman, who died in 2018. The three met after a visit by the filmmaker to the Prado Museum, where he was dazzled by the painter and later by Genoveva and his partner.

In fact, the connection occurred thanks to the screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière, who met Casanova previously at a scriptwriting workshop at the Buñuel Center in Calanda. The Mexican woman and her partner invited the director to her imminent wedding, and Forman accepted on the condition that they both participate in the film. The relationship lasted until 2009, and from then on her emotional state plummeted considerably, classifying the divorce as a difficult part of her life.

Currently, his life has been marked by a delicate state of health, despite having been able to participate in programs such as MasterChef Celebrity. How are your health? Much better, but I'm still not one hundred percent. Sometimes I get short of breath. It was a tremendous scare. And it helped me consider many things about my life. I feel very different. Calmer with the world. I see everything with more relativity. And I make the most of the little things,” she said in a recent interview.
