What are points on Shein and how to exchange them for clothes

Shein has become the new fast fashion queen of the textile industry. The Chinese giant has an extensive catalog of clothing, accessories, makeup and even gadgets and home decoration. One of its great secrets to consolidate its clientele and increase its sales even more is its curious points system.

The firm has devised a system whereby with each purchase the customer accumulates more or less points depending on the value of the piece, the higher the value, the more points. To benefit from this exchange it is necessary to register as a client, that is, as a user on the online platform.

Shein explains in its conditions section that points do not have a monetary value in themselves and cannot be redeemed or withdrawn as such. "Points can only be used to reduce the amount of an order or the price of a product purchased on the site," the firm writes, adding that this exchange does not include shipping costs, insurance or any other taxes.

Beyond its points system, which ultimately serves to ensure a second purchase if the customer wants to enjoy the discount, the brand continually makes discounts. The first is enjoyed by all Shein customers on their first purchase: a 15 percent discount on purchases over 29 euros and the automatic acquisition of 100 points.

There is a way to earn points that does not require direct purchase. According to Shein's bonus points policy, the customer can also acquire points by being active on the page, that is, posting comments and photos about the purchased products and rating the purchase.

The platform goes beyond the acquisition or interaction on the page. Just by connecting daily to the application, following live broadcasts or participating in contests, raffles and games held by Shein, you can acquire bonus points.

From that first discount, through the points system and frequent sales on the page, the customer can accumulate a price reduction that is even equivalent to the total cost of a garment.
