This is how Marina Pérez has changed, the model who became obsessed with fashion

Marina Pérez (Madrid, 1984) is one of the most prominent Spanish models in the fashion industry. Her dream when she was a child was to be a veterinarian, but these plans changed when she began to do her first steps as a model at only 11 years old and with the unconditional support of her parents.

At that age he combined his studies with the campaigns and catalogs of El Corte Inglés. "When I started as a model I was so little that I didn't even think if I wanted to work in it or not, if the opportunity had not come to my life so young I would never have thought of dedicating myself to fashion," she said in an interview.

In 2002, Pérez debuted on what was then known as the Cibeles catwalk at the hands of Miguel Palacio. She was a minor but that participation was key for Spanish and international brands to take notice of her, thus becoming one of the tops with the most parades behind her and one of the most recognized worldwide.

Just one year after her debut, she won the Best Model Award on the Madrid catwalk, a recognition that opened many doors for her. That same year, she starred in the campaign for the perfume Agua de Rocío de Victorio

Her 1.75 m height, her magnetic gaze through the intense green of her eyes and her marked features were Marina's best letter of introduction, who fell in love with designers such as Marc Jacobs, Dolce

In 2005 Marina became the model of the moment. She starred in campaigns for Sonia Rykiel, Hugo Boss, Loewe, Diane von Furstenberg, and Jimmy Choo, and walked for Prada, Dior, and Chanel. A career that was consolidated with the campaigns of Giorgio Armani, Dolce

However, when he was at the top of his career, Pérez decided to stop. He had been living halfway between Madrid and New York for a long time and there was a day when I couldn't take it anymore. "She had become obsessed with my work, she was tired, she had been doing it for a long time...", she admitted to the magazine Hello!

He took advantage of that break to deepen his tailoring studies, spend a lot of time with his family and think well about his future. A break that lasted almost two years and that helped her return much stronger to an industry that missed her a lot. "They proposed it to me again and I felt that I already felt more willing and comfortable to return much more than before," she said in February 2016 on the occasion of her return.

He returned through the front door participating in the Prada parade and becoming the image of the firm led by Miuccia Prada. Months later, she won the L'Oréal Award for Best Model on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid catwalk for the second time.

In 2021, Marina gave birth to her daughter Valentina and since then she has reconciled her family life with her professional life. She starred in a campaign for Zara Kids with the little girl and conquered the catwalks, once again, at the hands of Prada.
