Four days ago it came to light that María del Carmen Martínez-Villaseñor Barrasa, known in our country by her stage name, 'Mari Carmen and her dolls', had died at the age of 80 at her home in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife.
According to the first communications, the artist died from an accidental fall down the stairs of her home, which caused a series of serious injuries that cost her her life. As the presenter revealed, Miguel Almanzor, the artist's only son, was devastated after learning the fateful news, since he shared a great relationship and a beautiful connection with his mother. Almanzor was born as a result of the artist's relationship with the lawyer Manuel Almanzor, with whom she married civilly on June 19, 1980 and divorced a few years later.
Since the death of the artist was announced, different theories began to sound that spoke of the reasons that would have led the ventriloquist to fall down the stairs. One of the beliefs that gained more strength as the days went by is that Mari Carmen suffered a heart attack that made her collapse and fall at her home.
All doubts have been resolved after Miguel Almanzor has connected with the Antena 3 Espejo Público program to clarify the situation: "It seems that it was a heart attack and that the fall was from there, but it was not on the stairs, it was at the door of his house, on the sidewalk.
