The key of the knives and the saw to cast doubt on the premeditation of Daniel Sancho's murder of Edwin Arrieta

Daniel Sancho remains imprisoned in the Koh Samui prison, in southern Thailand, where he has remained in provisional detention since August 7 for the alleged murder of Colombian Edwin Arrieta.

The chef and content creator, son of the well-known actor Rodolfo Sancho and the analyst Silvia Bronchalo, is aware of his dire future. The Thai police have requested the death penalty, which may be commuted to a life sentence depending on the evidence presented in the police investigation report into the case.

A final report that has already been delivered to the prosecution and that will help establish the trial date that will determine the young cook's prison future. His defense team in Spain, led by the well-known criminal lawyer Marcos García Montes, seeks to demonstrate that the young man did not plan the crime - that is, that it was not premeditated - key to avoiding the death penalty, legal in Thailand.

An aspect that is difficult to demonstrate, but not impossible, and the young man's defense team would have already gotten to work. As reported by the newspaper El Mundo, Sancho's lawyers have prepared a report that analyzes all the items purchased by the confessed murderer of Edwin Arrieta, which are what the Police relied on to establish their hypothesis of premeditation.

A report of great interest to whoever will be his future legal representative in Thailand - the young man still lacks a lawyer on Thai soil, something mandatory for the trial - because, among other things, the knives and saws with which Sancho allegedly dismembered Arrieta's body.

However, this new report, signed by the Balfagón-Chippirrás office, legal representatives of Rodolfo Sancho in Spain, delves deeper and analyzes the conclusions of the police agents in the press conference after the crime, analyzing each of the elements presented by the Police. Above all, the "occasional items" that Daniel Sancho would have bought in his capacity as a chef and follower of Thai cuisine. For this reason, his professional qualification as a chef trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu hospitality school has a prominent place in said report, since these conclusions are based on it.

The criminologists highlight in their report how Sancho "asked for forgiveness" and declared "the enormous affection" he had for Thailand as a chef and follower of the country's cuisine. Thus, they state that Sancho would have acquired the knife, the garbage bags, the saw - for which no receipt has been found -, and the gloves with the intention of using them in restaurant activities during his stay on the island and not to finish with the life of the surgeon.

To support their arguments, they include several images of the young chef using very similar utensils, while practicing his profession.

Sancho awaits his prison fate in prison, with a trial date expected to arrive at the beginning of 2024. The grandson of actor Sancho Gracia was arrested on August 5 in the tourist resort of Koh Phangan, after confessing that day to the murder and dismemberment of the Colombian surgeon, whose remains were scattered across the island and the sea.

Since then, the young man, 29 years old, has received visits in prison from his mother, Silvia Bronchalo, and his father, the actor Rodolfo Sancho, who came accompanied by his lawyer in Spain, the Sevillian Marcos García Montes. The young man has been without a lawyer in Thailand since September 7, when his father dispensed with the services of Thai lawyer Anan Chuayprabat due to "discrepancies in the defense." His father has already confirmed that they are waiting to announce the name of his new legal representative in the country.
