The heartbreaking cry of "daddy!" of the boy who fell with his family in the Alberche river

DANA and the heavy rains that hit our country a few days ago left us completely devastating images and videos: streets turned into rivers, missing people, piles of cars that looked like junk, destroyed houses, collapsed bridges, etc.

The different media and current affairs programs covered the storm throughout the territory, but one specific story caught the audience's attention. It is about the situation of a family in the Madrid town of Aldea del Fresno. The relatives were in their car when the heavy rain surprised them and they were swept into the Alberche River.

A family consisting of a couple and their two children was traveling in the car. Due to the force of the water, they could not prevent their vehicle from falling into the river while they were trying to cross the bridge that goes to Villamanta. The first to be found were the daughter and mother. The little girl managed to get out of the water and reached a fire station on her own feet. For her part, the current dragged the mother several kilometers down, but she clung to a tree, where the rescue teams found her.

The 10-year-old boy was rescued the next morning. The little boy had lasted for around eight hours climbing the branches of a tree. The young man showed symptoms of hypothermia, but he did not have serious injuries and his life was out of danger. The regional television program Good morning, Telemadrid exclusively broadcast some video images recorded by neighbors in which you can hear how the boy called his father, nervous and scared with the apocalyptic situation they were experiencing: ''Daddy! ?!Daddy?!''.

These neighbors, helpless for not being able to leave the house due to the storm, could not do anything other than try to calm the child down, although they also called the corresponding authorities and notified them of the critical situation they were experiencing in the town. To this day, there are citizens of the municipality who assure that they cannot get the muffled screams of the child out of their heads.

Manuel, the children's father, is still missing. Firefighters and the Civil Guard resumed the search for the man yesterday morning. Although the rains have stopped, they do not face an easy task, since the river is not dammed until Talavera de la Reina.

After a few days in which she has barely been able to speak due to the shock of everything she has experienced, the mother wrote a very emotional public letter in which she heartily thanked the emergency and rescue services for everything they did for her children. .
