The director of the prison where Daniel Sancho is held reveals what the chef cannot get out of his head

More than a month and a half after the events occurred, the Edwin Arrieta murder case continues to have consequences in multiple areas. His confessed murderer, the Spanish Daniel Sancho, remains locked up in the Thai prison of Koh Samui, awaiting the trial that is due to be held soon. The death penalty is on his horizon, but the accused is in full preparation of his defense, according to those who monitor him closely.

This was made known by the director of the prison, Watcharapong Boonsaoir, in an exclusive interview with TardeAR. The new Telecinco evening show was able to speak with the person in charge of the penitentiary center after a date was set for another trial of the detainee, this one for an assault in Spain. Boonsaoir has commented that Sancho is totally focused on preparing his case before the judges, in addition to giving details of his day-to-day life.

“He is thinking about his case, about the court, about his lawyer. The focus is on your case. It doesn't come out of there," said the person in charge. “Now he is accustomed to prison life and has begun to study his case,” he added, detailing his daily routine. Sancho occupies part of his time exercising, but his defense is what occupies a greater portion of the time he is awake due to prison schedules.

Another relevant fact, surprising considering the information that has emerged in recent weeks, is that there would be relevant differences in the visits of his parents, Rodolfo Sancho and Silvia Bronchalo. “His father came to visit him. It seems that with his father's visits on September 6, 7 and 8 he did not feel stressed like when his mother came to visit him. With his mother he seems nervous,” commented Boonsaoir. These details have caught the attention of prison workers.

And the relationship between Daniel Sancho's parents has been relatively cold in recent times. While Rodolfo joined the team of lawyers to meet with his son for three hours, Bronchalo has a much shorter permit, lasting fifteen minutes. “In this prison, only one family member per day can visit an inmate; Silvia Bronchalo has this permission until now,” expressed the team of The Summer Program in its latest edition.

These statements, as we mentioned previously, come after the date was set for the trial for an assault in Madrid. It will be next November 7 through a videoconference, after the Prosecutor's Office rejected the extradition of the accused. The events date back to 2019, when Sancho allegedly punched a man on José Abascal Street. The victim suffered a broken tooth and required four stitches.
