Terelu Campos discovers a missed call from María Jiménez before she died

These have not been easy days for Terelu Campos. Earlier this week, the television station said goodbye to his mother, María Teresa Campos, who lost her life at the age of 82. The death of the veteran presenter shocked an entire country. However, this was not the only death that surprised our country, since the singer María Jiménez also left at the age of 73. In the last few hours, the Así es la vida program has revealed that Jiménez made a last call to Terelu before he died, a call that the television station would have recently discovered.

Jiménez, who died on September 7 at his home in Triana, Seville, received his final farewell this Friday in the Andalusian capital. His coffin was paraded through his hometown, riding in a horse-drawn carriage, amidst cheers, applause and music, the great passion of his life. Later, she was buried in the San Fernando cemetery. A death that has coincided with that of one of the most legendary presenters on Spanish television, María Teresa Campos.

In the last few hours, Alejandra Rubio, daughter of Terelu and granddaughter of the deceased communicator, has been in charge of revealing an anecdote about María Jiménez. The young woman, who recently debuted as a collaborator on the program Así es la vida, reported this Friday that her mother realized on the same day of the artist's death that she had received a call from the Sevillian. "With so many messages from friends and close people that she had received these days, my mother had a lot to answer. She was amazed when she saw María Jiménez's call in red," expressed Alejandra, revealing this anecdote.

As the young woman revealed, upon seeing that Terelu did not answer the call, María's sister, Isabel, decided to send her a WhatsApp. "I told her that they had tried to call her, but that they had not been able to speak with her. I told her that I was very sorry for the death of my grandmother. I sent it to her on behalf of her and María, because María could not write. But I wanted to tell her his love," revealed María Teresa's granddaughter.

Rubio confessed in the program hosted by Sandra Barneda that he does not know very well when that call occurred, whether on September 5 or 6, that is, one or two days before Jiménez herself died. However, the young woman does know that it occurred at 11:30 in the morning. Apparently, Terelu has already been able to speak with María Jiménez's sister. Both have mutually transferred their condolences. "My grandmother and María were very close. Isabel told my mother that my grandmother was always interested in María's health," she said.

María Teresa died this Tuesday, September 5, at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation (Madrid), where she was admitted due to respiratory failure that, in the end, she could not overcome. Her absence has been a strong blow, not only for her family, but for the world of journalism and communication, since she was one of the pioneer presenters on television in our country. Each one in her own, both the woman from Malaga and María Jiménez, were references. "They both had quite powerful personalities and that was inevitably reflected," said Rubio. Without a doubt, she will miss them both.
