Surprise signing of Pablo Iglesias in TVE's 'Mañaneros'

The Spanish Television program presented by Jaime Cantizano, Mañaneros, began the week with the announcement of a bombshell signing. After advancing the topics that were going to be addressed throughout the television space, the presenter unexpectedly announced the incorporation of a well-known famous face to his staff of collaborators.

''Today we add a new morning to our political table, pay attention,'' declared Jaime Cantizano before giving way to a video with images of the former vice president of the Government, leader of Podemos and minister, Pablo Iglesias.

In the video, Spanish Television's morning program made special emphasis on the fact that his signing for Mañaneros was going to mark his return to the small screen after his high-profile political career. ''Pablo Iglesias reappears and does so here, in Mañaneros. Pablo Iglesias' return to television, at 1:20 p.m., on TVE,'' they revealed in the audiovisual piece.

And so it has been. Around half past one in the afternoon, the presenter gave way to the program's political news table, where he welcomed the former politician. ''Let's go with our analysis table, today with the incorporation of Pablo Iglesias, good morning, welcome,'' said Jaime Cantizano while the former minister nodded.

During his first television intervention, the former vice president of the Government shared space with other regular collaborators of this type of political gatherings, such as José Manuel García-Margallo, Emma López and Edmundo Bal. A quartet that has had to debate the alleged negotiations between PSOE and ERC on a possible referendum.

In this way, Pablo Iglesias has returned to television, almost three years after his political retirement. However, the former Podemos leader has not been outside the media all these years. After announcing his resignation, Iglesias has been collaborating on Cadena Ser and managing Canal Red since March 2023.
