Sonsoles Ónega's joke on Martiño Rivas that has infuriated Galicians: "I go and take more pages"

Sonsoles Ónega has inadvertently angered an entire autonomous community in Spain. The presenter of Y ahora Sonsoles, on Antena 3, has become the target of all eyes after making an unfortunate comment to Martiño Rivas, who was presenting his latest project on the program: Nacho, the biopic about Nacho Vidal in which the Galician actor embodies its protagonist.

Martiño went to the set to talk about the series and at first he starred in a rather rough entrance to the set. Ónega, trying to loosen the atmosphere and gain the trust of her guest, thanked her for the visit, pronouncing words that have outraged many.

Sonsoles Ónega said goodbye to the actor alluding to "the first three episodes" of Nacho, "which we can all see now." Although she probably expected a more complete response from Rivas, he only said that such chapters "are fine", so the presenter continued trying to find another type of reaction.

"They're very good! Hey, if you're going to play Galician who doesn't speak, tell me, because I'll go and get more pages, I have a lot of questions ready," Ónega snapped. This is the comment that some people have taken as a direct offense to the Galician community, despite the fact that his father, also a journalist Fernando Ónega, was born in Lugo.

Martiño Rivas's response could not be faster and more direct, surely as the communicator expected it to be. "No, I'm going to play a tremendously eloquent Galician," the actor replied before Sonsoles cut, helping to get the conversation back on track and returning to the comfortable environment.

During the interview, the Galician shared some of the most striking curiosities about the filming of the series inspired by the life of Nacho Vidal. Among them, he spoke of the existence of the 'genital sock', "a flesh-colored sock with a rubber band", as the main work tool in the series.
