Simorra debuts at MBFWMadrid with a tribute to the ancestral strength of weaving

After celebrating its 45th anniversary in Barcelona, Simorra debuted at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid with its new SS24 collection, Ancestral Weaving, in a powerful show that puts the focus on the most essential element of the industry: weaving.

At the foot of the catwalk, a staging with a three-dimensional effect using manual interlacing and braiding techniques together with the latest technological advances, that is, always with an eye toward the future. “We know what we are good at, and we have to go for it,” they say from the Barcelona firm.

A collection that hides a very powerful message and is born from the desire to intertwine an increasingly individualized society and demonstrate that true strength lies in the community that weaves its social structure through collaboration.

Ocher, earthy shade brown, plaster white or chlorite green, ancestral colors that refer us to a minimal, sophisticated and, at the same time, contemporary style. Woven in Jacquard, guipure, organza and raffia using manual techniques such as braiding, interlacing, embroidery and knotting to enrich the architecture of each look.

A passion for fabric that has been in them for almost half a century and that has continued in this renewed stage of the firm. In 2006, the Dimas family took control of the firm and enriched Javier Simorra's legacy by putting weaving at the center of the creative process. This new Simorrra sees in fabrics a vehicle of expression and future for high-level ready-to-wear and this has been seen on the catwalk through the different ways of braiding the thread.
