Silvia Tortosa's assistant: “She wanted to take revenge on Carlos because he had hurt her a lot”

María José Zurrón, who worked for eight years in the home of the late actress Silvia Tortosa, has decided to speak publicly about the problems that the artist faced in her personal life. In an interview on Telecinco's TardeAR program, she revealed how Tortosa suffered in silence due to the infidelity and abusive behavior of her husband, producer Carlos Cánovas, who plunged her into a deep depression.

Zurrón confessed to the presenter Ana Rosa Quintana that the actress gave him documents called 'My great revenge', in which she expressed her desire to make her internal struggles public.

“She was an artist, who exposed herself to the public. It bothers me that it is said that we are taking away her life, her life was public. If I have decided to speak, it is because I have encountered very complicated situations,” commented Zurrón about his decision to speak about Tortosa's intimate life. The former assistant claims that she will only make the documents public if the actress's memory is attacked.

According to Zurrón, the documents reveal a dysfunctional marriage in which Tortosa felt alienated and betrayed. “It was a three-way marriage, Silvia was outside of it, out of touch with her house,” he declared. He also mentioned that the actress intended to bring these documents to light as a form of revenge towards her husband.

Regarding Tortosa's mental health in her last days, Zurrón revealed that the actress was immersed in deep sadness and refused to leave her house. “Stuck at home, she didn't want to go out or get ready. “She didn’t want to live,” she expressed. Furthermore, he assured that Tortosa never admitted to having suffered physical violence from her husband, but there were disagreements.

The interview also shed light on the relationship between Tortosa and José Manuel Parada, in which the assistant suggests that Parada was aware of Cánovas' double life. “One day he overheard a conversation between Parada and Carlos, he knew about his double life,” Zurrón revealed.
