Shawn Mendes cancels his world tour due to mental health

Shawn Mendes, the music superstar, announced Friday that he will be taking a break from his world tour to "take care of my mental health" and "for myself." He told his 69,000,000 Instagram followers that he will postpone at least three more weeks of shows.

Mendes stated that she has been touring since the age of 15 and that it was always difficult to travel away from family and friends. "After a few decades off the road, it felt like I was ready for a dive back in. But that decision was premature, and unfortunately the tolls of the road and pressure have caught up with me and I've reached a breaking point."

Mendes is now less than two weeks into Wonder Tour, which began June 27th in Portland, Oregon.

Mendes stated, "After speaking to my team and with my health professionals, it is time for me to heal and take proper care of my mental health and myself." "I promise to keep you informed of any updates as soon as I can."

All shows beyond a July 29th date in Uncasville (Connecticut) are being postponed. Mendes' tour will continue through August 2023.
