Shakira's promise to her children after winning the Latin Grammy: "They deserve it"

This Friday, Seville hosted the 24th edition of the Latin Grammy Awards. There were many artists who traveled to the Andalusian capital to attend the great event, as was the case of Karol G, Alejandro Sanz, Pablo Alborán, Rosalía and Shakira, among many others. Precisely, the latter was one of the most awarded performers of the night. The Colombian received three awards in total that rewarded two of her latest songs: the Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53, together with the producer Bizarrap, and TQG, together with Karol G. The emotional speech of the Acróstico interpreter after winning the award for 'Best song of the year' was dedicated to his two children, Sasha and Milan, and managed to move everyone.

Accompanied by her children Milan and Sasha, the Colombian artist made an appearance at the gala, looking absolutely radiant. After winning the award for 'Best Pop Song', she went on stage to thank her Spanish fans for their support and revealing that she has gone through difficult times in the country, referring to her separation from Gerard Piqué. "I want to share it with my Spanish audience, who have been accompanying me through thick and thin, in the difficult and hard times that I have gone through in this land that I have loved so much," expressed the Colombian.

Later, the one from Barranquilla took the stage to star in one of the most special performances of the night. 'Shak' performed Acrostic dressed in a golden costume with the image of a Sorrowful Virgin on her chest. Her children, Sasha and Milan, joined her, projected on the screens as they sang verses of the song. However, the most emotional moment would come later.

After performing Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 with Bizarrap, which lifted the entire audience and made everyone dance, the couple of artists won the Latin Grammy Award for 'Best Song of the Year'. Shakira dedicated a few words to her two children, moving everyone present. "I want to dedicate this award to my children, Milan and Sasha, because I have promised them that I am going to be happy, that they are going to have a mother who is going to smile with all her laughter, because they deserve it," expressed 'Shak' . Furthermore, she added that she only thinks about upcoming projects: "There is nothing in the past, only the future is remembered."

It is worth remembering that the last few years have not been easy for the performer of songs like Suerte or Before Six. In June 2022, the artist announced her separation from Gerard Piqué, with whom she had been sharing a life for around a decade. The breakup was one of the most high-profile ones in memory between two well-known figures. After a long judicial process for the custody of the children, the artist tried to heal her broken heart with music. Topics like Monotonía, the Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 or TQG emerged after this breakup.

Finally, on April 2, the woman from Barranquilla left Barcelona with her two children after more than a decade residing in Spain with her ex-partner. Since then, the artist has focused on her professional career, and she is working on her next studio album. "I'm already thinking about what's to come, about the songs I'm going to write, about the tours I'm about to do, about the audience I'm going to share with," the artist herself expressed at the Latin Grammys. It is certainly a new era for her.
