Daniel Sancho is having a harder time than his defense team expected. The son of actor Rodolfo Sancho has been in the Thai prison of Koh Samui since the beginning of August, when he confessed to having murdered and dismembered the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta.
In his first hearing before the judge, the chef only accepted one of the three accusations that the Thai Prosecutor's Office accused him of in its final report: that of hiding the body. However, he did not want to accept the charge of murder with premeditation and the charge of hiding other people's documentation. Something that could result in capital punishment. Now, the accused has gone before the judge again.
This third visit by Daniel Sancho to the Thai court has already started on the wrong foot: three hours late. And although the cameras were able to capture the image of the accused in his previous hearing, this time it could not happen, since they wanted to have everything tied up and controlled.
An appearance that could not take place due to the defense of Silvia Bronchalo's son. The objective today was for them to present the list of evidence and witnesses to try to prove that Sancho did not commit premeditated murder. However, it has had to be postponed until December 12.
Still, it seems like everything has a reason. And the accused has a new public defender who still needs a few weeks to study the case and obtain new evidence. For this reason, he has decided to ask the judge for this time.
"In this case it does seem that the defense has confidence in this lawyer. Although he is a public defender. And, for now, it seems that they are going to follow the same line that this was not a premeditated homicide," said one Let's see reporter stationed in the Asian country.

This first appearance was supposed to take place on October 26, but it had to be changed to November 13 because there was no Spanish translator.
