Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's romantic getaway to Portugal

Away from the British crown, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue with their lives in California. The couple, who in early 2023 generated a stir for their confessions about the British crown in their Netflix docuseries, have been in a discreet background in recent months. His last public appearance was on the occasion of the sixth edition of the Invictus Games, which took place in Germany. However, taking advantage of their stay in Europe, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken the opportunity to spend a secret vacation in Portugal before returning to the United States.

From September 7 to 17, Enrique and Meghan had an appointment with the Invictus Games, founded by the son of Charles III. This year, they were celebrated in the German city of Düsseldorf, which is why the couple spent a few days on the old continent. As it has now been learned, this has not been his only stop in Europe. Far from returning to Enrique's native country, the couple enjoyed a few days in Melides, a town in the Alentejo region (Portugal), as reported by Nova Gente.

According to the aforementioned media, the Sussexes traveled to the place with their children, Archie, four years old, and Lilibet, two years old. Apparently, the place chosen to enjoy a few days of disconnection would not be a coincidence, since it is very close to the residence in Comporta that Princess Eugenie has with her husband Jack Brooksbank. Both couples could have met and enjoyed plans together. It should be remembered that Prince Andrew's son-in-law lives between the United Kingdom and Portugal for work reasons.

On the other hand, the visit would have served for Harry and Meghan to personally meet Ernest, the couple's second child, who is now four months old. The princess and her husband have another son named August, two years old. According to several media outlets, the Sussexes could have been staying in one of Jack Brooksbank's exclusive houses, something that could have facilitated their stay in the European country.

Although Meghan and Prince Harry's relationship with the British Royal Family is at a tense moment, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still have a very good relationship with Eugenia of York. In fact, Eugenie would be the only member of the British crown to visit the couple in California. It was in February 2022 when Sarah Ferguson's daughter went with Harry to the Super Bowl.

After their trip to Europe, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned home to participate in a public event. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended the charity fundraiser organized by actor Kevin Costner through his organization One805LIVE!, which provides financial aid and dental health support to emergency services personnel. The couple was in charge of presenting the actor with one of the awards. There is no doubt that their trip to Portugal helped them recharge their batteries after a few hectic months dedicated to organizing the Invictus games, which celebrated their sixth edition.
