Pepe Domingo Castaño: this is the legacy he leaves his loved ones

Pepe Domingo Castaño, one of the most recognized voices in radio journalism in Spain, died last Sunday, September 17, at the age of 80. The veteran announcer was leaving "suddenly", as announced by his dismayed colleagues from Tiempo de Juego at Cope, but "surrounded by his own" at the Hospital de la Zarzuela in Madrid.

A sudden death, caused by a persistent throat infection that became complicated and led to septicemia and caused the legendary communicator to lose his life, leaving his wife, María Teresa Vega, devastated; his sons, Óscar and Hugo, and the rest of his family.

The journalist, however, did not leave his family empty-handed. As El Confidencial points out, the communicator leaves, in addition to his unconditional and eternal love, a vast inheritance in the form of companies, investments and properties. The most visible, the family house in Aravaca, in one of the most exclusive areas of Madrid.

As he himself said, he bought it with the Mexican profits from Motivos, the song he released and was number one for weeks in Latin America. Gold Record in Mexico, is just one example of the Galician's short, but intense foray into the world of music.

"The advances that the Melody company paid me, which had the exclusive rights to my records, as soon as they entered the bank's current account, went directly to the payment of the bills for that semi-detached house on Sextante Street, which meant for Tere and me the culmination of the dream of having one's own house," writes the journalist in his book, Hasta que me ran out of words.

A house that, as he himself remembers, was paid for "with a lot of effort and sacrifice." Finally, they achieved their dream: a home of their own in an idyllic area. "We were happy there, near Madrid, but without the stress of the big city." A large family house located in the exclusive urbanization, which has a huge terrace where they even set up a small bar to socialize with the neighbors, and even a small gym.

In addition to the family home, the announcer also owned another apartment in the Arturo Soria area. An apartment where he lived after the separation from his first wife, María Luisa Seco; and that coincidentally had belonged to the singer Karina and her ex-husband, Tony Luz. There, in addition, he began to live with the one who would become the love of his life, Teresa Vega.

Over time, the couple invested in more properties that are now part of that immense heritage that Pepe Domingo Castaño leaves as an inheritance. Among others, an exclusive 180 square meter apartment on the Golden Mile, in Las Lomas del Marbella Club; where he enjoyed his vacations. In addition, the announcer acquired two more apartments in the Las Rozas area, near the capital, with separate garages and storage rooms.

From now on, they will be his wife and two sons, Hugo, an airline pilot, and Óscar, a television director; those who manage all those assets. All of them are also part of the only active company that the announcer owned, Saudade Flavia SL, dedicated to the management of advertising contracts and with interests in the Plus Ultra airline, where Hugo Domingo precisely works.
