Pedro Ruiz attended the set of TVE's Mañaneros this Monday to promote his return to public television after almost 20 years with the program Nada del otro mundo next Friday. During his visit, the morning program took advantage of the presence of the radio and television presenter to talk to him about the sad death of Concha Velasco this weekend at the age of 84.
The communicator wanted to use the space to apologize to the family of the renowned actress, since he did not attend the funeral chapel installed at the Teatro La Latina or the subsequent funeral. After those words of excuses for the family, Ruiz explained the reason why he decided not to attend the interpreter's farewell.
"I say this very carefully, but with a lot of knowledge. I think that funeral homes have become a reality show and I am ashamed to go," the presenter concluded. Ruiz was a very close friend of Velasco and visited her on several occasions at her residence where the actress had been hospitalized.
In this sense, during the Mañaneros program, the veteran presenter has also explained that in recent months he has missed other funerals for the same reason. "I haven't gone to María Teresa Campos' or María Jiménez's or Mari Carmen and her dolls' because I think it has become a little reality show. I'm embarrassed, it seems like we're going to be seen instead of supporting the family," he added.
On the night of Friday, December 8 at 10:10 p.m., Ruiz will once again be the protagonist of public television after more than two decades. The special program will consist of two interviews, three recorded comedy spots and two songs. The interviewees of the night will be the singer Rozalén and the influencer Dulceida. Both will chat with the presenter about events in his life and his career.
