Model Bella Hadid celebrates “5 months without alcohol”

The 26-year-old model Bella Hadid announced a year ago that she was beginning a life away from alcohol. According to what she explained, then she had discovered that avoiding drink was the best thing for her mental health. Alcohol gave her "an endless effect of pain and stress," she confessed. Now the top-model has given more details about how she is doing. In a post on Instagram, where she has more than 58 million followers, Ella Bella has announced that she has been "5 months without alcohol" and to celebrate she has escaped to Las Vegas.

Along with several images in which she poses in a red dress, Gigi's sister has shared another photo showing a can of her non-alcoholic drink Kin Euphorics. Hadid became a co-founder and partner of this brand in September 2021 after discovering that the sparkling water blend with botanicals helped her with her anxiety, brain fog from her Lyme disease, and exhaustion from constant work and travel. . The model spent the weekend in Las Vegas to promote her soda company.

Bella, who has never hidden her struggles with anxiety and depression, opened up about her alcohol use in an interview a few months ago. As she told InStyle magazine, the drinks she drank when she went out to have fun ended up taking a high emotional toll on her. “I loved to drink, to the point that I started canceling outings where I knew I couldn't control myself,” she recounted.

Apparently, the trigger that encouraged her to change her life was the fact that her doctor showed her through various scanners how alcohol affected her brain: "After seeing it, I decided to be sober for the foreseeable future." According to the model, the drinks she enjoyed socially were intrinsically related to her mental health problems: “I no longer have the need to drink because I know it will affect me at three in the morning when I wake up due to horrible anxiety thinking, for example, in a thing that I said five years ago when I graduated”.

In 2015, she was arrested by the Los Angeles police for drunk driving. Her driver's license was taken away for a year and she had to do 25 hours of community service, plus 20 hours of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
