Miguel Lago's controversial speech about Leonor's swearing in of the Constitution that has set the networks on fire: "this is gold"

The comedian Miguel Lago has caused a stir with his comments about Princess Leonor's swearing in of the Constitution in the program "El Hormiguero" by Pablo Motos.

During a current affairs gathering, Lago expressed his disagreement with the political parties that did not attend Congress as a sign of protest against the monarchy, describing their absence as a lack of respect for their work duties.

Miguel Lago, also known for his participation in the program "And now, Sonsoles", emphasized his point of view as a republican and independentist, stating that if a common worker misses work because of his ideological beliefs, he would face consequences, but the political parties seem to be able to afford to do so without retaliation.

The comedian did not hesitate to use humor to support his opinion, comparing the attitude of the deputies who did not attend with that of his older children, who, in his narrative, try to avoid their domestic responsibilities by inventing excuses. "And in the end, the Spanish people collect everything," Lago joked.

His comments focused on the lack of attendance from the Catalan independence parties, Junts and ERC, as well as the Basque parties, the PNV and Bildu, along with acting ministers Alberto Garzón, Irene Montero and Ione Belarra.

Miguel Lago has generated a wave of diverse opinions with his comments on the right of politicians to fail in their responsibilities based on their ideological convictions and has highlighted the differences between ordinary citizens and elected representatives.
