Malú defends himself against criticism for his "bad character": "I have never ridden a chicken in my life"

Malú is one of the most recognized artists in Spain. The artist has spent more than twenty-five years dedicating herself to music and has established herself as one of the most powerful voices in Spanish pop. At 41 years old, the singer-songwriter has an extensive and award-winning musical career full of awards. In addition, she has filled several of the most important venues in our country, such as the Wizink Center or the Palau Sant Jordi. Now, the artist is honest about one of the most personal aspects of her professional career: the negative comments that call her "edge" or "unfriendly."

For the first time, the interpreter of songs like Not a Second or Black and White has opened up about the harsh criticism she receives for her alleged bad character. It has been during her participation in Accoustic Home, from HBO Max. "I've never ridden a chicken in my life," she begins by saying herself. And it is that the singer assures that she has faced all kinds of negative descriptions, such as 'difficult', 'edge', 'unfriendly' and 'rough'.

"I have set them [the chickens] when I was 16, 17 and 18 years old because I had no idea. I didn't know what all this was about or that there was a part to have in public relations. I only cared about getting on stage and do the concert of my life", he revealed before the cameras of the aforementioned platform. On the other hand, Malú considers himself a very perfectionist person. "I always want the job to be well done," he says.

A perfection that she also wants for all those who work with her. "I like things to be good and I like that we are serious and professional when we work. I don't mess with people, I don't attack the people who work with me, otherwise I wouldn't have been with my drums for twenty-five years. The musician who has been with me the least for fifteen years", she expresses about the team that accompanies her in each of her professional projects and in each of the tours she organizes.

"Character? Of course I have character. I have me and probably all the women in my industry, all the women on my staff who come in and put a bunch of guys on their feet. They set you up on a stage and run a bunch of people." , says the artist, who is very clear that character in women is essential in the music industry.

For Malú, her only priority at a professional level is to go on stage and that everything goes perfectly. "When they told me: 'hey, I'm going to see you before the concert', I thought: 'don't fuck with me'. At that moment I am a rock of tension, of warming up, of nerves, of a brain focused on what I have to do," he says. And, in the end, perfection is only achieved by working on it. In this way, the artist settles all the bad comments that are made about her.

As for the personal field, Malú is in a very sweet stage, raising her daughter with her partner, Albert Rivera. Little Lucía will be three years old next June. Malú and Albert Rivera's relationship has always been surrounded by a lot of secrecy. Both began their romance in 2019. The relationship came to light after both were caught together. Finally, little Lucia was born on June 6, 2020.
