LUTZ — Antiques, collectibles, furniture, plants and more will fill the Old Lutz School House when the Lutz-Land O' Lakes Woman's Club has its annual flea market Friday (March 3) and Saturday (March 4).

The event, which draws hundreds of shoppers looking for bargains, raises money for the club to return to the community through scholarships to students and grants to nonprofit organizations in the area.
"The biggest portion goes to scholarships but we also support Boy Scouts, the library, schools, Hope Lodge, the VA and other projects," said market chairwoman Pat Serio. "The Old Lutz School House is very gracious to us as we use it for about six weeks. We in turn are big supporters of them."
The 101-member club, which was founded in 1960, began the sale about 35 years ago with a few tables at the Lutz Railroad Depot, Serio said, adding it was moved to the historic school house about 20 years ago.
The sale also includes holiday decorations, household goods, children's items and clothing for the family.
Rosie Heim, chair of the clothing section, said clothing items on almost all racks are $1 each. Several "boutique "racks will have items ranging from $2 to $10.
"We have a lot of brand names on the boutique racks - and some beautiful gowns," Heim said.
Items in the rest of the sale also are priced from less than $1.
"The prices are fabulous; we have two days to sell this so we price it to go," Serio Nakitbahis said.
The event is the club's second largest fundraiser of the year with the holiday season Lutz Arts & Crafts show the largest, Serio said. However, the club does not disclose how much it makes at the flea market.
