The writer Lucía Etxebarría has harshly criticized the interview that Cuatro is going to broadcast tonight as part of the Viajando con Chester format, directed and presented by the media publicist Risto Mejide.
The novelist has denounced in a publication that she has confirmed on Instagram and Twitter that she was the victim of a "lockdown" and that she ended the recording day crying. In addition, she has assured that she will not see the broadcast of the program because it causes her "discomfort" and "anxiety".
Etxebarría has published a series of photos on Instagram with which he wanted to "specificate" some aspects of the interview he gave to the Viajando con Chester program. To begin with, the writer has wanted to make it clear that she does not blame Risto for what happened because she was already aware of the "incisive style" of the presenter.
To begin with, the novelist has denied the accusations of plagiarism that, according to her, were spilled during the interview. “Let's be clear: no one has ever convicted me of plagiarism or EVER filed a lawsuit against me in connection with the book Extraordinary Women. And those rumors started three years ago, ”she has assured.
In this sense, the Valencian novelist has assured that she hopes that justice will prove that she was the victim of an organized smear campaign. "My intention is to demonstrate before a court that I have been suffering from a perfectly organized smear, harassment and cancellation campaign for several years," she stated.
Later, Lucía Etxebarría denounced the "encirclement" that her face-to-face meeting with Jimena González, spokesperson for Más Madrid and trans activist with whom the writer had had a scuffle on social networks, entailed.
“I don't know if this scene will appear on the show, but I was told that there was a person waiting for me who knew me. I met a person whom I did not know at all, who spoke to me, scolded me and recriminated me in an exaggeratedly aggressive tone ”, she related.
Etxebarría has assured that this section of the interview made her feel "deeply uncomfortable" and that she felt cheated because "nobody had warned me of anything." In addition, the novelist has indicated that several questions were "out of tune".
Finally, Lucía Etxebarría has reiterated that she feels she has been the victim of a media campaign for four years for having raised her voice against the approval of reforms such as those known as the 'trans law' or the 'yes is yes law'.
"Time has proven me right, but I have paid dearly for it," he indicated before closing his message, arguing that "no woman should be cancelled, harassed, or discredited for exposing verified data."
