Producer Kevin Turen died this weekend at the age of 44. The American had worked on two highly successful series on HBO such as Euphoria and The Idol, in addition to producing the popular horror films X and Pearl.

The first confirmation of his death came through a statement from his father last Sunday, in addition to being announced by a spokesperson for Penske Media Corporation, parent company of The Hollywood Reporter. At the moment the causes of his death are unknown.

"Despite his many achievements in Hollywood, Kevin's greatest passions were his family and friends," wrote Jay Penske, CEO of PMC and a close friend of the producer in an official statement.

"He was very proud of his children. He and his wife, Evelina, were determined that their children would grow up with great values ​​and ensured that they made a difference in the world at large. Our collective heart breaks for them, and we all feel "A profound loss. Kevin will be greatly missed, and this city has lost one of its brightest rising stars today."

A New Yorker by birth, Turen studied at Columbia University, focusing on film. After participating in two projects for Netflix, Tau and Savage Nation, he met Sam Levinson, with whom he founded Little Lamb Productions. Together with him he created the acclaimed Euphoria, which marked his introduction to the small screen.

Likewise, Turen and Levinson produced the HBO miniseries The Idol with singer The Weeknd, one of the most controversial projects of the year. Among the artist's other notable credits is the horror trilogy X, consisting of X, Pearl and MaXXXine, starring the acclaimed Mia Goth.
