Javier Bardem embodies the character of Tritón in this new production, and that is why he has given different interviews in Spain. In personal terms, his marriage to Penélope Cruz is going from strength to strength, and he has also spoken about the beginnings of his relationship with the actress in his interview with Cadena SER, specifically on the Hoy por hoy program.

The interpreter of Felipe in Eat, pray, love confessed how old he was when those first meetings with Penelope took place. “She was 17 years old then,” she recounted. Later, he explained how her first reactions were when meeting her. “I said: ‘this little girl, this little girl’… I’m going to follow the trail of this one,” the actor revealed between laughs.
