Irene Lozano, former president of the CSD, recounts how she broke relations with Rubiales: "Get out of my office"

As we all know, Luis Rubiales has been temporarily removed from his position as president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation due to the different actions he committed on the day of Spain's victory in the Women's World Cup (the kiss without consent to the player Jenni Hermoso and the behavior she developed in the stands with the queen and the princess). However, the future of the manager depends, today, on the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Irene Lozano, former president of the Higher Sports Council, worked with Rubiales for more than a year and explained how difficult it was for her to deal with Vilda's friend in an interview she did for the program El Larguero (Cadena Ser). In the conversation with Manu Carreño, Lozano explained that Rubiales has no respect in his manner and that it was very difficult to work with him: ''Rubiales' language is that of threats, blackmail and contempt; with women more".

The interviewee explained that she is experiencing the Rubiales controversy with "with great sadness and perplexity", but she has acknowledged that nothing that has happened (with respect to him) has surprised her, since she knows Rubiales very well: ' 'I have experienced all this with that sadness that women always have to play two games: on the field and off it. First demonstrate your abilities and then defend your rights, your dignity and that you are respected. We have all felt identified ".

Lozano has also said on the radio that he feels that Spain has made history by responding so unanimously to such events and condemning sexist and misogynistic attitudes: ''It is fair to say that we have given a bad and a good image in Spain, because the reaction of society is what speaks well of us. We have seen the old, outdated, sexist part that is seen a lot in football due to the structures it has. But the women, with their success against all odds, with the same difficulties that I encountered, have achieved great success and the supportive reaction of Spanish society shows the awareness that exists in Spain."

After acknowledging that their professional and personal relationship was very complicated and that he did not like Rubiales' treatment, Lozano has clarified the rumors that claim that he once had to kick him out of his office.

''I had to kick him out. we were alone He started making very serious accusations against one of the people on my team. And I go to death with my team, I take responsibility for everything they do. He was saying generalities, but he was speaking ill of a person I trusted. I told him that he would either withdraw it or leave. And he said no. I had to take his coat off the rack and give it to him. I told him not to make me call security and to get out of my office because we had nothing else to talk about. We didn't speak again. Institutional channels existed, but he and I did not speak again," the woman explained to Manu Carreño, who was shocked by such an anecdote.
